Grape Expectations

I have been having a lazy couple of days, preparing for the busy weeks that are looming on the horizon. I've been holed up working on a youth conference that I volunteer for and working on some craft projects that I've needed to get off my plate. But I didn't want to leave you hanging without an outfit post, so I was thrilled to find an outfit that I never got around to posting. This is one of my favorite dresses EVER. I snagged it off ModCloth and wore it to a wedding recently. Not only did I love the name of the dress "Grape Expectations," but I loved the rich purple color, the haphazard tiered bubble hem, and the ribbon sash. PLUS, it came with detachable straps that I wore as a halter, which is a great idea for the curvy girl. I hate yanking up strapless dresses all night!  I paired it with some hidden platform pumps (one of my favorite shoe styles lately!), a cropped cardigan, and some sparkly dangly earrings I swiped from my sister.

 

Party dresses are so fun! Now I just have to convince some more of my friends to get married so I have the excuse to wear more. Don't be selfish, girls. Do me a solid.

I can't believe it, but this weekend is one of the first weekends I've had in a long time where I have no commitments or things that must be done. The whole weekend is M-I-N-E. Well, mine and the boyfriend's, but really M-I-N-E. I'm so beside myself with freedom, that I haven't been able to figure out what to do with the weekend. It's like wishing for something for so long that when you get it, you have no idea what to do with it. Now that the sun is out, I'm planning on forcing myself to go outdoors, but beyond that, I haven't got a clue what I'm going to do. And that is just LOVELY. Have a great weekend!
