Cold Shoulder

Dress, Boots, Earrings - ModCloth; Jewelry, Belt - Vintage
For months now, I have been searching for the perfect new fall boot. I knew exactly what I wanted, which, of course, is what made it impossible to find them. What made them even more impossible to find is that the ones I wanted were made by Ralph Lauren in 1985. Yes, the perfect boots I am talking about belonged to none other than the ever fabulous 80s pop icon, Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club. I have been lusting after these boots ever since I saw the movie, and I haven't been able to get them out of my head. So when ModCloth offered a similar pair a few weeks ago, I could barely type my little fingers fast enough to buy them. Aren't they fabulous? The ModCloth version are even cuter because the front of the boots have some detailing that make them look like oxfords. Sorry the photos don't do them justice.

I absolutely adore this dress. I actually avoided cut-out shoulder clothing because I was convinced that it wouldn't be flattering on me (I'm not a fan of my arms), but my sister convinced me to try the style anyway, and it turns out that I love it. This particular dress is stretchy jersey, so it's as comfortable as pajamas, but the cut-out shoulders make the dress cute and fun (not to mention breezy, my shoulders were freezing!). I love that this piece can be dressed up or down, depending on how I style it, and the fact that I can eat, run, sleep, and clean the house in it. Yes, I did all that while I was wearing this dress...it was quite the productive Sunday.
