Dress - ModCloth |
I have to be honest, my whole life, I never have felt like much of a fashionista. I come from a family of very fashionable (and impossibly thin) women, and I have always felt a bit like the dowdy one. Being a curvy girl, I never felt like clothes fit me properly, and as much as I loved fashion and pretty things, there were a lot of times where I felt like I should accept the fact that being fashionable just wasn't for everyone. This blog was about me fighting that feeling, and in the beginning, an insecure part of me never believed that anyone would be interested in what I had to offer, let alone be inspired by my styles. But this blog has become my baby over the past year, and the community that you guys have created for me has motivated and inspired me in a way I never thought possible. You really have no idea how much it means to me to hear from you and feel your support. Your comments bring a smile to my face and brighten my whole day!
So I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting BSMMH and making this blog what it is today. With my full-time demanding job, my soapmaking business, and everything else I've got going on, I know BSMMH would have never made it this far (nor would I have felt this good about myself) without you guys, so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! Here's to many more outfits ... and to another year of looking good and feeling good!
And..... SURPRISE! For BSMMH's one-year anniversary, I wanted to do something special, so scroll down for my very first GIVEAWAY!
And now the GIVEAWAY!
Vintage clutch, necklace, brooches, scarf. |
Have a great weekend, loves!

awww your pictures are so cute! i know what you mean about style blogging helping yourself accept fashion for your body and accept yourself, which is one reason why i started :) that may sound weird but i know i'm not alone. it's nice to be an individual in a group of individuals.
#1 never wins, but i dont care. i love vintage because they are pieces which arent made into mass amounts, and if they were what happened to the other pieces just like it? theyre also made with more quality, and aren't common into today's fashion. they also must have some history behind them, like "if this dress could talk."
Hi!
Only started reading your blog a few months ago and can't go a day with out checking for new posts. I absolutely love your style and must admit that you have inspired me into buying vintage clothes. Never owned anything vintage until recently. There aren't that many vintage boutiques here in Cape Town, South Africa so its quite difficult finding items that fit a more bigger girl like myself :)
Don't expect to win the competition cause i'm all the way on the other side of the world.
I love vintage because its so much cheaper than retail store clothes and there is just so much more important stuff to spend your money on like bonds and student loans.
Would just like to say thanks...thanks for opening up a whole new world to me :)
congratulations on one year!!!!! i love reading your blog and seeing all the cute outfits you put together.
i love vintage pieces because chances are, you are pretty much the only person that owns that one piece...it's one of a kind!
can't wait to see what the new year brings for you...thanks for posting such cute outfits!!
I have been a follower for months and I love your blogging style :)
I love vintage because the quality of past tiems, especially bags and accessories are usually much better than modern purchases. The idea of owning something that has stood the test of time is the charm of vintage!
Congrats on your one year! You look radiant in these pictures and that color blue is fabolous on you. I think what I most love about vintage is that every piece has a story. I love to imagine who wore it before me and what they were doing. It's a part of history that you can wear!
yay for one year!! i'm a new follower but always love your fun pics:) PS: that cake looks so good!!
Yay! congrats! loved the balloons! it's a very lovely "UP" movie moment!
Vintage is pretty. Your blog is awesome!
Hi! I am a new follower too, but as a curvy woman and fellow lover of vintage I really love your inspirational photos. I am going into the corporate world soon and hope to bring a little fun to the dress code myself!
I love vintage because it is unique. I love knowing that I will never see anyone else with the same dress on. I love finding quality garments that fit like they were made for me, and hearing people comment on my individual style. I love knowing that I can dress to fit my body without following trends that come and go. Vintage is timeless
happy one year!!
Congrats! What a great photoshoot - love the balloons and cake! :-)
