Chambray My Way

Cardigan - F21, Dress - Johnny Martin c/o Macy's ($9 on clearance!), Boots - Steve Madden
These days, it feels like no self-respecting fashion blogger doesn't own a chambray button-down shirt. But I have a confession to make. Hello, my name is KK, and I do not have a chambray shirt. Hiiiii, KK.

It's not that I don't like how they look. I think they are such a great and important staple piece for every wardrobe, but for the curvy girl, the button-down chambray shirt just doesn't always look right. The buttons pull in the wrong places, and it looks more manly on me than it should. Still, I love chambray...so enter this lovely chambray halter dress!

I love this dress. The chambray makes it different and fun! At first, I tried to figure out how to accessorize it so that it wouldn't be so Western-y, but then I decided to embrace the Western-y and went for riding boots and a braided leather belt. I think I'll try feminizing it a bit when summer rolls around, but for the windy slightly chilly weather over the weekend, my Western-y look was just right temperature-wise.

I love that fashion allows me to be daring and adventurous but also gives me the freedom to realize that not all fashion trends will suit me. Fashion is individual and expressive and not a mold I have to make myself fit into, which is great since I've never been that great at trying to fit in. :)

Love the dress! There are SO many things you can do with it. I can't wait to see it in the future.

Btw, if you got free time on April 23, I'm having an SF Bay Area blogger meetup. You should come! I was trying to find your email address, but I can't find it. If you're interested, here's the FB invite: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=165211343532574
